Nevisian youths introduced to Beach Handball at training workshop

The St. Kitts and Nevis Handball Association and the Department of Sports in Nevis conducted a Beach Handball training workshop on 1st December 2018.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Handball Association spent the afternoon introducing Beach Handball to youth and juniors at Pinney’s Beach, Nevis.

Led by the Association’s President, Leroy Greene, along with General Secretary, Mr Fitzroy “Platini” Clarke, Public Relations Officer, Mr Nathaniel Ible, and Govanie Manners-Hendrickson, Floor Representative, presented Beach Handball equipment to Director of Sports in Nevis, Mr Jamir Claxton.

Beach Handball is a team sport where two teams pass and bounce or roll a ball, trying to throw it in the goal of the opposing team. Similar to Team Handball, Beach handball is played on sand instead of in a sports hall.

The SKNHBA hopes to see Handball being played on the sports fields of our sister islands Nevis in the near future.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Handball Association are members of the International Handball Federation (IHF) since 2009. Their goal is to promote health, and sportsmanship through the sport of Handball and Beach Handball in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
